Volunteer

Throughout scripture we see followers of God physically, emotionally and prayerfully participate in the redemptive work of the Gospel. This is true throughout all of Scripture but culminates in Jesus who demonstrated the ultimate act of service in his self-sacrifice on the cross. Jesus himself said that he came

“not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).

As a church, we depend heavily on the various Ministry Teams made up of volunteers who serve our church by creating an environment where others are loved and where we can worship God in the Spirit and in truth (John 4:4).

Creating such an environment requires numerous and very practical areas of service. Whether that’s the behind-the-scenes work, leading a small group, or praying for the needs of the church, it all aims to create a hospitable environment as we seek to fulfill the biblical command to love one another (John 13:34). If you regularly attend Calvary we’d love if you would consider volunteering by joining a Ministry Team.
