What is Christianity? Some say it is a philosophy, others say it is an ethical stance, while still others claim it is an experience. None of these things really get to the heart of the matter. Although, each above definition is something a Christian possesses, not one of them serves as a definition of what a Christian is. Christianity has at its core a transaction between a person and God established by a person’s faith. A person who becomes a Christian moves from knowing about God distantly to knowing about him directly, intimately and consistently. The person who professes Christianity believes in the Finished Work of Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9). Christianity is knowing God through a spiritually developing relationship through His Son Jesus Christ.
Now this is eternal life; that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. – John 17:3
