Clean Energy Efficient Equipment Distribution Event

Cut energy costs at home and reduce local air pollution with simple energy-saving devices! On August 8th, you can take home free giveaways from Utah Clean Energy. They will be giving away free smart thermostats and energy-saving LED light bulbs to Calvary Baptist Church congregation members, and they will be sharing tips for saving energy at home! Devices are limited: 3 Google Nest smart thermostats and a limited supply of LEDs are available. Please take 15 minutes before August 8th to sign up to receive one of 3 Google Nest smart thermostats and check if your home’s heating and cooling system is compatible. LEDs will be available on a first come, first served basis. 

Utah Clean Energy will have a table set up at the church after Sunday service on August 8th. Mark your calendars to start saving money and energy at home!

LEARN AND WORK

The Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) Workforce Training & Education Department has a Learn & Work opportunity for unemployed, underemployed, and vulnerable workers who had employment effected by COVID 19. There are 17 different tuition free courses/programs participants can take advantage off. Click on the Learn and Work Flyer for details.

RENT RELIEF

Project Success Coalition has partnered with Salt Lake County to provide outreach, education, and assistance to those in need of rental and/or utility assistance. The Emergency Rental Assistance Program, ERAP, is here for you! Details are on the flyer or visit their website at rentrelief.utah.gov.  

COVID FUNERAL ASSISTANCE

FEMA will begin accepting applications under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 & the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 and will provide financial assistance, reimbursing up to $7,000, for COVID-19-related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020.

MATH TUTORING

Parents of K-6 Students,

We have secured an AmeriCorps Grant to support students in the academic area of mathematics. So, if your student(s) are struggling in mathematics, or just need a brush-up, we have several small group tutoring slots available. Tutoring sessions will take place twice a week for about one hour at Calvary Baptist Church during the month of June. Tutoring sessions will be conducted in person and online.
